The Buhler High School varsity girls golf team placed second at the Wamego Invitational Thursday at the par-70 2,907-yard Wamego Country Club course.
Wamego won the tournament with a 334 score, followed by Buhler with 359, Concordia 394, Rock Creek 396, Silver Lake 406, Holton 412, Rosseville 414, Clay Center 432, Tonganoxie 447 and Nemaha Central 481.
Buhler’s Anika Paulsrud placed fourth with a 14-over-par 84 score and Macy Miller finished seventh with a 90. The top 10 golfers earned medals.
Buhler’s Addison Specht tied for 11th with a 92, followed by Paityn Weber, who tied for 13th with a 93. Ellie Goering tied for 25th, 103; and Payton Polk, tied for 52nd, 122.
Concordia’s Mya Nierhues placed first with 77. Wamego’s Maizie Nickel and Lydia Rossow placed second and third with 78 and 79, Lillian Costa tied for fifth, 86; and Madelyn Douglas and Gentry McIntosh, tied for eighth, 91.
Riock Creek’s Jordyn Schneider placed fifth with an 86. Tonganoxie’s Paityn Van Middlesworth toed for eighth with a 91.
Buhler’s varsity competes at the Wellington Girls Invitational on Monday, the Newton Invitational on Tuesday and the McPherson Invitational on Thursday.
The Buhler junior varsity competes in the Andover Central JV Invitational on Tuesday.
