McPherson, Kan. – The Central Christian College of Kansas Women’s Volleyball team hosted #5 ranked McPherson College in Jerry E. Alexander Arena in the first installment of the 2026-27 Collegiate Cup matchup presented by People’s Bank and Trust.
The Bulldogs showed they came to play by taking the first eight points of the first set. The Tigers would go on to drop the first set, 25-5 and look to regroup in the second set.
The Tigers found themselves knotted up with the Bulldogs early on in the second set after two rare errors from the Bulldogs. The Tigers however, would be unable to take advantage as the Bulldogs would proceed to outscore the Tigers 19-6 and take set two, 25-10. Despite being down 2-0 in the match, the Tigers showed resilience by tallying seven kills in the third set but were quickly overpowered by McPherson’s strong attack. The Bulldogs would go on to win the set, 25-11 and take the match in straight sets.
With the loss, the Tigers drop to 0-7 on the year and will jump back into SAC play this weekend. They travel to Oklahoma City to face the Stars of OCU on Friday and Southwestern Christian on Saturday. The games will be streamed live on the Urban Edge Network and SAC Sports Network.
