Great Bend, Buhler and McPherson (all 1-0 after Week 1 of the high school football season) are ranked fourth, fifth and seventh in Class 4A in the first 2026 Kansas Media Poll released on Tuesday.
Rose Hill received Class 4A votes.
In Class 6A, Manhattan (0-1) is second, Derby (1-0) is third and Maize (1-0) is seventh. Dodge City, Wichita Heights, Garden City, Junction City and Wichita East received votes.
In Class 5A, Hays (1-0) is ranked third, Bishop Carroll (1-0) is sixth, Andover (1-0) seventh, Salina South (1-0) eighth and Salina Central (0-1) ninth. Goddard and Andover Central received votes.
Andale (1-0) is ranked first in Class 3A, Cheney (1-0) is third, Hoisington (1-0) is fifth, Pratt (1-0) is seventh and Hesston (1-0) is eighth. Wichita Collegiate received votes.
Haven (1-0) is ranked ninth in Class 2A. Southeast of Saline (1-0) is tied for fourth in Class 2A with Council Grove (1-0) and Garden Plain (0-1) is sixth. Ha;stead and Marion received votes.
Sterling (1-0), the defending Kansas Class 1A state champions, is ranked second in 1A by statewide media. Inman (1-0) is ranked third, Hutchinson Trinity Catholic (1-0) is seventh and Hays-Thomas More Prep-Marian (1-0) in ninth. Salina Sacred Heart and Moundridge received votes.
South Central (1-0) is ranked first in Eight-Man I, Wakeeney-Trego (0-1) is fifth and Central Plains (1-0) is sixth. Ell-Saline and Canton-Galva received votes.
Little River (1-0) is third in Eight-Man II, Cunningham (1-0) is fifth and Hutchinson Central Christian (1-0) is sixth. Stafford received votes.
South Barber (0-1) is ranked fifth in 6-Man.
