Two people were hospitalized Monday after the car they were riding in crashed during a police pursuit in Allen County. The crash was reported at 11:42 a.m. near 4550th Street and Hawaii Road, about two miles northeast of Elsmore.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2010 Cadillac CTS was traveling recklessly east on Hawaii Road while being pursued by law enforcement. Near 4550th Road, the driver lost control, causing the Cadillac to leave the roadway, cross Hawaii Road and come to rest off the opposite side.
The driver, 18-year-old Logan L. Fielding of Junction City, and 15-year-old passenger Brooklyn K. Rhodes of Texas were both taken to area hospitals with suspected minor injuries. The patrol reported that neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.
