The Neosho women’s soccer team battled through intense heat and a physical, hard-fought match to earn a 2-1 victory over Allen County.
Both teams competed hard from the opening whistle, but Neosho consistently created high pressure in the attacking third.
Neosho struck first when Katie Smart found the back of the net to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. Allen County responded with an equalizer, setting up a dramatic finish. With just seven minutes remaining, sophomore Lily Beck stepped up with the game-winning goal, putting Neosho ahead 2-1.
The Panthers held through the final minutes to secure the hard-earned victory. Despite the heat and physical play, Neosho continued to battle, create chances, and find a way to finish when it mattered most.
Neosho Women’s Soccer will look to carry that momentum into its next match against Johnson on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
