Buhler Boys Soccer Team Opens Season with Victories over Salina Central, Winfield

The Buhler High School boys soccer team opened the 2026 season with victories over Salina Central and Winfield.

The Crusaders defeated Salina Central 5-0 on Tuesday and Winfield 3-1 on Thursday.

Five Buhler players scored goals in the Salina Central game: Trey Deviney (Jaydon Adocok, assist), Easton Fisher (Trey Deviney assist), Aiden Long (Jaydon Adcock assist), Jaydon Adcock (KJ Spurlin assist), Masin Beckman (Josh Mullens assist).

“The boys played great they dominated possession the whole game,”  said Buhler boyts soccer coach Josh Tafolla.

In the Winfield match, goal scorers were Aiden Long (Jackson Tanksley), Stryker Avery (Parker Philbrick) and Jackson Tanksley (Parker Philbrick).

“We (Buhler) scored all three goals in the first half,” Tafolla said. “They (the Crusaders) played well.”

Buhler will play at Great Bend on Tuesday and at Rose Hill on Thursday.

The Crusaders play their first home games against Hesston (Sept. 14) and Mulvane (Sept. 15).

Buhler plays four road games to close out September: Arkansas City (Sept. 17), McPherson (Sept. 22), Valley Center (Sept. 24) and Augusta (Sept. 29).

Buhler’s first five games in October are at home: Hutchinson (Oct. 6), Towanda-Circle (Oct. 8), Classical School of Wichita (Oct. 12), El Dorado (Oct. 13) and Salina South (Oct. 15).

Buhler plays at Berean Academy on Oct. 20 in Elbing.

Regional and sub-state soccer matches will rake place from Oct. 26-31.

State championship games for Classes 6A, 5A and 4-1A will take place Nov. 7 at Scheels Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita.
