The Kansas Eight-Man Football Coaches Association released its preseason rankings for the Eight-Man I and Eight-Man II divisions.
The South Central Central High School Timberwolves are ranked No. 1 in Eight-Man I, followed by the Lincoln Leopards, Wakeeney-Trego Golden Eagles, Leoti-Wichita County Indians.
South Central won the 2025 Eight-Man I state title with a 34-8 win over Lincoln.
The Hanover Wildcats are ranked No. 1 in Eight-Man II, followed by the Axtell Eagles, Little River Redskins, Victoria Knights and Sylvan-Lucas Unified Mustangs.
Hanover won the 2025 Eight-Man II state title with a 28-20 win over Victoria. The Wildcats have won seven Eight-Man II state titles.
