Burrton High School’s Isaac Jones captured the 5K varsity boys race and Macksville’s Kennedy Butler placed first in the 5K varsity girls race at the Pretty Prairie Invitational cross country meet.
The meet took place Thursday morning at the Prairie Winds Golf Course aka The Links.
The races were rescheduled for early Thursday morning because of heat reasons.
Jones posted a time of 18 minutes, 26 seconds, and Butler’s time was 23:21.
Pretty Prairie captured five of the top six spots in the 4K boys race and the top seven spots in the 4K girls race.
Pretty Prairie’s Malachi Goering won the 4K boys race with a time of 14:58. Lauren Detter edged out Amity White 16:06 to 16:12 for first place in the 4K girls race.
Conner Moody of Medicine Lodge won the 3K boys race with a time of 13:05. Pretty Prairie Middle School’s Lila Detter won the 3K girls race with a time of 12:51.
PPMS’ Kadon Haflich and Alyssa Anderson swept the 1-mile boys and girls titles with times of 6:17 and 7:31.
