The McPherson Water Park is staying open a little longer as temperatures remain in the triple digits. City staff decided to keep the splash pad operating through Labor Day weekend, with plans to shut it down September 8th.
With temperatures still expected to be in the 100s, staff at the McPherson Water Park made the decision to keep the splash pad open through the Labor Day Weekend.
Last year the City of McPherson made the decision to invest in infrastructure improvements to separate the splash pad operation from
the pool and lazy river. The result was a separate system that can be operated outside the pool’s function.
While the pool and lazy river require staffing that is often lost due to the impending school year, the splash pad is an unstaffed feature that remains open.
