The Neosho County Volleyball team delivered a strong performance on Thursday, earning a pair of decisive 3-0 victories over Cedar Valley and Rose State.
The Panthers opened the day against Cedar Valley and carried that momentum into their second match against Rose State, showcasing a balanced offensive attack and strong defensive effort throughout the day.
Neosho County 3, Cedar Valley 0
Neosho County started the day with a dominant sweep of Cedar Valley, winning 3-0(25-14, 25-18, 25-8) behind an efficient offensive performance.
Elyse Haxton led the Panthers at the net, recording 9 kills on 18 attempts with just one error for an impressive .444 hitting percentage. Makenzie LaRue was also highly efficient offensively, finishing with 7 kills on 13 attempts and one error for a .462 hitting percentage.
The Panthers received strong production from both setters, with Georgia Rogers recording 20 assists and Tori Thompson adding 17 assists to help keep the offense in rhythm.
Defensively, Mckenzye Williamson led the team with 20 digs, while Janka Makai contributed 9 digs as the Panthers kept Cedar Valley’s attack under control.
Neosho County 3, Rose State 0
The Panthers continued their strong play in the second match of the day, sweeping Rose State 3-0(25-12, 25-14, 25-14) to complete a perfect day on the court.
LaRue turned in another outstanding offensive performance, leading the Panthers with 10 kills on 16 attempts and only one error, good for a remarkable .563 hitting percentage.
Haxton provided another powerful offensive presence, recording 17 kills on 35 attempts with just one error for a .457 hitting percentage.
Rogers and Thompson once again directed the offense effectively. Rogers finished with a team-high 24 assists, while Thompson added 18 assists.
Williamson continued to anchor the Panthers defensively, leading the team with 15 digs. Hedi Koppany also made an impact in the back row, recording 8 digs.
