The Buhler High School volleyball team opened the season with a sixth-place finish at the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Preseason Tournament at McPherson High School.
The tournament was played at the McPherson Roundhouse and the MHS Auxiliary Gymnasium.
The Crusaders went 0-5 in the tournament. Buhler lost to Derby 2 games to 1 (26-24, 26-28, 25-18), 2-0 to Garden City (25-19, 25-16), 2-0 to Goddard (25-23, 25-22), 2-0 to McPherson (25-16, 25-16) and Maize South 2-0 (25-9, 25-11).
Maize South won the tournament title with a 5-0 record, followed by Garden City 4-1, Derby 3-2, McPherson 2-3 and Goddard 1-4.
Buhler competes in a varsity/junior varsity triangular at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Augusta High School Hutter Gymnasium.
The Crusaders’ first home match is 4:30 p.m. Sept. 8 against Clearwater at Jim Baker Fieldhouse.
