The Ellinwood Eagles, the defending Kansas Class 2A state volleyball champions, are ranked first in Class 2A in the Kansas Volleyball Association preseason poll released on Wednesday.
Hillsboro, Moundridge, Inman and Hays-Thomas More Prep-Marian are ranked sixth, seventh, eighth and 10th.
Little River, winners of four straight Kansas Class 1A Division I state titles, are ranked first in Class 1A Division in the KVA preseason poll. Goessel is ranked third and St. John-Hudson seventh.
Hutchinson Central Christian is ranked ninth in Kansas Class 1A Division II.
Hoisington, Hesston and Halstead are ranked second, fourth and fifth in the KVA preseason poll in Class 3A. Cheney is ranked seventh and Ellsworth eighth in Class 3A.
Andale is ranked first and McPherson seventh in Class 4A.
Other first-place teams are Blue Valley West, Class 6A; St. Thomas Aquinas, Class 5A; Silver Lake, Class 3A; and Linn, Class 1A Division II.
Other second-place teams are Mill Valley, Class 6A; Maize South, Class 5A; Topeka Hayden, Class 4A; Valley Heights, Class 2A; Centralia, Class 1A Division I; and Hanover, Class 1A Division II.
