Neosho came out with incredible energy and intensity last night, jumping out to a 2–0 lead within the first 10 minutes. Katie Smart opened the scoring, and Aurelia Smith followed just two minutes later. The Lady Panthers continued to control the game and attack with purpose, creating opportunities and putting pressure on the opponent throughout the majority of the first half.
Neosho finished the game with an impressive 24 total shots, showing their willingness to be aggressive and create chances in the attacking third. Freshmen Ellie Smith and Matilda Barriga also got on the scoresheet with their first goals of the season.
The Panthers conceded one goal late in the match with about 15 minutes remaining, but Neosho responded with composure, determination, and the mentality to finish the job.
A solid performance and an important first win of the season. More importantly, we are building the right habits, the right mentality, and the right momentum moving forward.
