A head-on crash kills a woman from Beverly Kansas.
Ellsworth and Barton County First Responders were called to the scene of a fatality motor vehicle accident Thursday afternoon, just inside of Ellsworth County on K-156 Highway.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports the driver of a 2007 Chevy Impala, 72-year-old Debra Jean Stovall from Beverly, died at the scene.
Preliminary findings indicate that the westbound Impala crossed the center-line, causing a head-on collision with a pickup pulling a trailer. KHP says the 2019 Dodge Ram truck overturned, then burst into flames.
Four persons who were in the truck were transported to the Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington, Kansas to be treated for possible injuries.
