It’s the first rate hike on the Kansas Turnpike since 2022, and it will begin on September 1st.

The Kansas Turnpike Authority is announcing a $500 million dollar investment to improve and modernize infrastructure across the turnpike’s 230-miles of roadway.

KTA says the plan will improve a list of things like interchanges and system connectivity, widen a portion of I-70, enhance customer amenities and advance technology and operational systems.

The KTA Board of Directors has approved a three-year annual toll adjustment of three-percent for passenger vehicles and four-percent for commercial vehicles with 5 or more axles – effective September 1, 2026.

KTA receives no tax funding from the state or federal government.
