Hutchinson Trinity Catholic, Salina Sacred Heart and Ellinwood placed athletes on the Kansas Golf Coaches Association Class 2A All-State Team.
Hutchinson Trinity’s Tyler Casebolt and Salina Sacred Heart’s Will Tuttle were named to the First Team.
Hutchinson Trinity’s Miles Blaylock and Salina Sacred Heart’s Jake Koksal and Dominic Matteucci made the Second Team.
Ethan Newell of Salina Sacred Heart and Luke Heinz of Ellinwood earned Honorable Mention recognition.
Salina Sacred Heart won the Class 2A state tournament May 26-27 at Winfield’s Quail Ridge Golf Course with a 643 score, followed by Syracuse (649), Hutchinson Trinity (665), Hays-Thomas More Prep (679), Oakley (682) and St. Marys (714).
Schools that missed the cut at 2A state were Topeka-Cair Paravel Latin School (349), Pittsburg-St. Mary’s Colgan (352), Wakeeney-Trego Community (373), Ellinwood (382), Sterling (386) and Republic County (389).
Casebolt placed seventh at the 2A state tournament with a 157 score and Tuttle placed 11th with a 160 score. Blalock tied for 12th (161), Koksal tied for 14th (163), Matteucci tied for 19th (169).
Newell placed eighth at state (158), Drennon tied for ninth (159) and Heinz finished 30th (174).
