Rose Hill has won back-to-back Kansas Class 4-1A boys state soccer championships.

The Rockets (19-1) shut out Berean Academy 5-0 Saturday night at Topeka’s Hummer Sports Park for their second straight state title.

The state championship and third-place games were originally scheduled to be played at Scheels Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, the site of an Oct. 17 tragedy where a pickup truck drove through a soccer game resulting in two deaths.

According to KWCH TV (Channel 12), the Kansas State High School Activities Association moved the state championships to Topeka as a gesture of respect and support for the affected families, schools and communities.

Brady Liebl led the way for the Rose Hill Rockets with four goals. Joshua Herrera scored the Rockets’ first goal.

Rose Hill led Berean Academy 2-0 at halftime.

The Rockets posted a win in the final game for coach Jerry Treat. He is retiring after 35 seasons as Rose Hill High School soccer coach.

Rose Hill defeated Buhler 8-0 in the quarterfinals and Shawnee Mission Bishop Miege 3-2 in the semifinals.

In addition to winning titles in 2025 and 2026, Treat coached Rose Hill to state titles in 2014 and 2015. His coaching record is 340-122-14.

The Rockets posted an 18-2 record in 2024 and placed second at state. Rose Hill went 19-2 in 2025.

In the Class 4A third-place match, Shawnee Mission Bishop Miege defeated Heritage Christian Academy 3-0.

Miege finished the season with a 15-4-2 record and Heritage Christian Academy finished 15-5-1.
