MCCF, Affiliates Announce June Grants

The McPherson County Community Foundation, Marquette Community Foundation and the Moundridge Foundation have announced their grant recipients for June 2026. This cycle the Foundation released over $72,000 to organizations across the county. These distributions came from four different community funds.

McPherson County General Grants

USD418 – Reality U – $3,000

McPherson High School has the chance to host Reality U. Through this program, students gain important financial literacy knowledge to help them plan for their future while recognizing the importance of their education today and how it is tied to their financial future.

McPherson Police Department – McPherson Community First Responder night – $2,800 

First Responders’ Night not only enhances first responder and community relationships, it promotes and develops partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie making our neighborhoods safer and a more caring place to live and work.

Inman Public Schools – Inman Decodable Library for Developing Readers – $2,585

This project will fund school- wide decodable book sets for use in preschool through third-grade instruction and intervention for all grade levels as needed. Decodable texts allow students to practice phonics patterns they have been taught and apply those skills to connected reading.

Girls on the Run – Program Expansion and Scholarships in McPherson County – $2,700

This project addresses these needs by expanding Girls on the Run programming and providing scholarships so all girls can participate regardless of income. By offering a research-based curriculum that builds confidence, resilience, and healthy habits, the program fills a critical gap in mental, emotional, and physical well-being support for local girls.

Wichita’s Littlest Heroes – McPherson Heroes Community Events – $5,000

From July 1, 2026, to July 1, 2027, we will host 10 McPherson Hero Community Events, each averaging $500, for a total of $5,000.These events will include Hero family activities and caregiver-focused gatherings, providing connection, respite, and joy for families facing ongoing medical challenges.

McPherson County Health Department – McPherson County Safe Sleep Community Baby Shower – $3,000

We are planning our fourth annual Safe Sleep Community Baby Shower for the fall of 2026. Focusing on infant safe sleep, breastfeeding, tobacco cessation, maternal mental health, and prenatal/postnatal resources, we provide a one-stop shop for expecting families or those with an infant up to 9 months old.

Marquette Learning Center – Refrigerator – $7,000

Replacement of a dying refrigerator with a new commercial equivalent.

Child Care Zones – 2026 Matching – $10,000 

Partial match for childcare zones state funding

Lindsborg Community Library – Renovation Phase 2 – $10,275

Additional funds to renovation project

Marquette Community Foundation

Marquette Public Library – unearthing a story live program – $500

Kim Noller is a Kansas based music teacher and a children’s music artist specializing in interactive, family-friendly performances She would like to share her latest original song inspired by the American Library Association’s theme for next summer’s reading program, “Unearthing a Story,” which will be the theme for her library performance.

Fine Arts Council – Tumbling Mats – $500

These mats will significantly enhance both the safety and effectiveness of instruction, enabling us to grow the program, serve a wider range of skill levels, and provide a secure, supportive environment for all participants.

Moundridge Community Foundation

Moundridge Public Library – Books on Blankets – $800

Additional Funding for Books on Blanket Program

West Zion Mennonite Church – Moundridge Youth Ministries – $1,500

West Zion welcomes 50-60 K-4th grade children to our church to learn about Jesus on Wednesday nights during the school year. We are requesting this grant to help cover the cost of meals.

Moundridge Lions Club – Maddie Kaufman Playground – $20,000 matching

Matching Grant for fundraising for the Maddie Kaufman playground at Black Kettle Park
