It may have rained most of the week, but Friday, June 6th was a sunny day with a light breeze for the annual Chamber Classic Golf Tournament at Turkey Creek Golf Course. Teams enjoyed a taco bar lunch courtesy of Reach Solutions before playing 18 holes of golf with fun and entertaining activities at each hole thanks to tee box sponsors. Pizza Ranch provided supper while scores were totaled and prizes awarded.
The dynasty continues for Ad Astra Radio, as they made the hat-trick of three years in a row as Favorite Tee Box Sponsor. They had some stiff competition from Viega, Pli/Catalyst, and many other great sponsors, but Casey Justus’ philosophy of only giving rewards and sharing cold beverages won the day yet again.
Each golfer’s name was put into a drawing for one of three larger prizes. Leland DeWild won a Flyball (like portable skee ball) game prize package for fun in the backyard or at the beach (Valued at $200). You might catch Austin Russell at the pickleball courts with his new pickleball gear pack, including two rackets, patriotic balls, and a backpack to carry it all in (Valued at $150). Newt Eahart won the handy Stihl inflator with battery and charger, and patriotic floats for the pool or lake (Valued at $125).
Drum roll……….The winner of the $500 raffle sponsored by MTC was Chad French!
New this year, the “Theme Spirit” Award went to team Driving Lady Libertee with their colorful matching eagle-themed polo shirts.
Although the Chamber Classic is not really about scores, we did award Team PEM (Parker) some practice time at Hutch Putt.
