Clark Wedel has been selected by the Moundridge USD 423 Board of Education to serve as interim superintendent. Wedel assumes this two-year interim role July 1st as Cody Rierson, who has been USD 423 superintendent for the past years, leaves to take the superintendent position in McPherson USD 418.

Wedel , a 35 year education veteran, served as principal at Moundridge High School for ten years, and after that was Superintendent of Schools in Haven USD 312 for seven years. Most recently he was a business development and educational consultant for Wiens and Company, a Hutchinson-based construction firm.

In a statement Wednesday evening, USD 423 board of education president Michael Beasley, stated, “We understand the importance of not rushing the decision to find a leader for USD 423 and it became evident throughout this process that an interim leader with previous superintendent experience and more importantly, experience with our school district, was the appropriate decision for use at this time. We are excited to welcome Mr. Wedel back to Moundridge and look forward to the leadership he will provide the district.”

“We loved our time in Moundridge, and I am excited to fill the role of Interim superintendent for the district.” Clark and his wife, Marilyn, have three grown children (and MHS Alumni) and four grandchildren.
