Hesston Boys Place Six Golfers in Top 10, Capture CKL Team Title by 43 Strokes

The Hesston Swather boys golf team placed six golfers in the top 10, including the top three spots, and won the Central Kansas League championship by 44 strokes.

The CKL tournament took place Monday at the par-72 Crazy Horse Golf Course in Hutchinson.

Hesston posted a 23-over-par team score of 311, followed by Hoisington 354, Pratt 399, Hillsboro 403, Nickerson 407, Larned 408 and Halstead 428.

Placing first, second and third for Hesston were Carter Frey with a 1-under-par 71, Isaac Rusche 76 and Evan Koehn 78. Reece Burhrman was seventh, 86; Austin Penner, eighth, 88; Aiden Bridgeman, tied for ninth, 89.

Pratt’s Beau Ferrell placed fourth with 82, Nickerson’s Jacob Myers was sixth with an 84 and Hoisington’s Mason Martin tied for ninth with Bridgeman with an 89.

Three other Hoisington golfers placed in the top 20: Bryson Kinman tied for 11th, 90; Rennick Dalton, 14th, 93; and Kobe Crawford, tied for 16th, 100. Kaiden Chambers tied for 24th, 105.

Pratt golfers Teagan Richardson, Drake Riffey and Berkley Blasi placed 24th, 26th and 27th with 105, 106, and 107. Blake Blasi tied for 40th with a 128 score.

Hillsboro’s Braxton Hiebertt and Nathan Hill tied for 19th with 102s, followed by Karson Whitely, tied for 21st, 103; and Reese Duerksen, tied for 30th, 115.

Nickerson’s Lane Hoskinson tied for 21st, 103; Gage Hoskinson, 34th, 120; Trey Jones, 37th. 123; and Brayden Mathis, 39th, 125.

Larned was led by Gavin Collins who tied for 11th with a 90 and Brandon Stahlecker, who placed 13th, 92; Calvin Keith, tied for 28th, 108; Caycen Auble, 33rd, 118; Jace Holopirek, tied for 35th, 122; and Koby Lang, 38th, 124.

Maxx Linton led Halstead’s golfers, placing 18th, 101; Harrison Wilson, tied for 21st, 103; Brock Odendahl, tied for 28th, 108; Lance Anderson, 32nd, 116; Aaron Learn, tied for 35th, 122; and Braxton Ervin, tied for 49th, 128.
