Buhler Boys Golf Team Placed 7th at Home Invite

The Buhler High School boys golf team placed seventh out of 11 teams at the 36-hole I-135 Buhler Invitational Monday.

The first round of the tournament was played at Sand Creek Station in Newton and the second 18 holes was played at the Hesston Golf Course.

Buhler posted a 690 score (362-328) for its seventh-place showing. The Buhler JV squad did not post a team score.

Zach Chance was the top golfer for the Crusaders with 21-over-par score of 164 (89-75).

Nick Chance placed 27th, 170 (87-83); Isaiah Heredia, 33rd, 174 (87-87); Jace Horning, 36th, 175 (94-81); Ben Gazaway, 40th, 177 (92-85); Carter Harris, 44th. 178 (95-83); Talan Martin, 51st, 182 (92-90); Carson Thibault, 63rd, 194 (107-87); and Carter Stover, 66th, 2-3 (99-104).

Andover Central placed first in the team standings with a 618 score (319-199), followed by Andover 630 (331-299), Wamego 633 (329-304), Hesston A team 636 (334-302), Towanda-Circle 642 (330-312) and Salina Sacred Heart 664 (343-321).

Independence placed eighth with a 694 score (366-328), followed by Chanute 695 (360-335), Rock Creek 716 (372-344) and Hesston B team 737 (395-342).

Andover Central’s Colt Farrow captured first-place individual medalist honors with a 3-under-par score of 140 (69-71).

Circle’s Anderson Helmer placed second with a 1-under par score of 142 (75-67) and Andover’s Brody Fox was third with a 2-over-par 145 (78-67).
