McPherson, Kan. – The Sooner Athletic Conference released All-Conference Honors and Four Tigers have received All-Conference recognition for their performance in the 2026 season.
Samir Gonzalez was voted Freshman of the Year after turning into a bright spot in the Tiger rotation. Gonzalez amassed a record of 2-2 in 11 starts across 55.2 innings pitched and recorded 46 strikeouts and a 4.37 earned run average.
Nick Julian earned a First Team nod for the second year in a row after anchoring the Tiger pitching staff. Julian led the SAC in Innings Pitched (95.2), Strikeouts (109) and finished top 10 in Earned Run Average (4.42), Opposing Batting Average (.243) and Wins (6). Julian finished with a record of 6-4 in 17 starts with a 4.42 ERA and tallied 2 complete games on the season.
Kurt Ippolito was named to the 2nd Team after batting .367 across 180 at bats where he tallied 13 homeruns, 13 doubles and 57 runs batted in. He tallied a slugging percentage of .656 and 32 walks, showcasing his ability to hit the ball hard but also be disciplined. Ippolito finished 5th in the SAC in Home Runs, 6th in Walks, 5th in Runs Batted In, 4th in Runs Scored, and 7th in Slugging Percentage.
Justin Evasovic was also named to the 2nd Team as he also finished top-10 in multiple categories among SAC pitchers. Evasovic was 9th in Earned Run Average (4.43), 7th in Innings Pitched (83.1), and 7th in Strikeouts (80).
The Tigers tallied a 21-25 record this season, going 15-12 in SAC play and earned the #4 seed in the SAC Tournament. Their season was highlighted by series wins over #14 ranked MACU and RV Nelson University.
