HUTCHINSON, Kan. – [April 30, 2026]- BNSF Railway will begin work on multiple railroad crossings in Hutchinson starting Tuesday, May 5.
The following crossings will be impacted during the project:
- Plum Street
- Poplar Street
- Walnut Street
- Washington Street
- Monroe Street
- Van Buren Street

Whiteside Street
Each crossing will be closed while work is underway. Detours will be in place, and drivers are encouraged to follow posted signage and allow additional travel time when navigating these areas.
Please refer to the attached maps for specific detour routes associated with each crossing.
This work is part of ongoing maintenance and improvements to railroad infrastructure. The schedule for each crossing may vary depending on weather and construction conditions.
