Buhler JV Girls Soccer Team Capture Wichita Northwest Tourney Title Match

The Buhler High School junior varsity girls soccer team captured the Wichita Northwest Invitational championship by posting a 3-0 record and outscoring their opponents 14-0 with three clean sheets.

Buhler defeated Goddard 3-0 Saturday morning in the championship game. On Friday, the Crusaders defeated Wichita South 5-0 and the Wichita Defenders 3-0.

“These girls played incredible all tournament long and just keep getting better every match,” said Buhler soccer coach Randall Rank on the team’s Facebook page. “They outscored their opponents 14-0 on the way to bringing home the championship.

“Super proud of this team and all the hard work they put in. Well deserved. So happy for coach Eric Stambaugh and these girls.”

Maycee Kimble scored two goals for the Crusaders on assists from KaAliyah Williams and Kalia McDowell. Camryn White scored a penally kick goal.

Goal keeper Bentley Roepka and the defense posted a clean sheet in against Goddard. Goal keeper Josie Cummins and the Crusaders’ defense posted two clean sheets in the Crusaders’ two wins on Friday.

In the first game win over Wichita South, KaAliyah Williams scored two goals. Kylie Gregg, Ella Canter and Kimble each scored one goal. Assists went to Payton Polk, McDowell, Parker Harmony and Nevaeh Williams.

In the victory over the Wichita Defenders, McDowell, White and KaAliyah Williams each scored a goal. White’s goal came on a free kick. Kimble and McDowell each had an assist.
