Two people were injured in weekend crashes in central Kansas.

One person received serious injures in a two vehicle crash Friday evening north of Hutchinson.

The Reno County Sheriff’s office said preliminary investigation indicated an SUV driven by Isaiah Suter-Tan was northbound on Plum Street at 95th Avenue just after 7 PM and was attempting to turn west into a driveway when he was struck by a southbound pickup driven by Parker Dear.

Both vehicles ended up in the west ditch.

Suter-Tan was later taken to a Wichita Hospital. Dear and two passengers in the pickup were not injured. Reno County EMS and Hutchinson Fire also responded to the crash, which remains under investigation.

A Great Bend man was injured in an early Saturday morning crash west of Lyons. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Stephen Crawford was eastbound on Avenue N at 12th Road when he swerved to miss a deer and overturned his vehicle, which came to rest in the ditch facing south.

Crawford was taken to Rice County District Hospital with reported minor injuries.
