BELPRE, Kan. – A Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) project to replace the concrete pavement on K-19 in Belpre in Edwards County will start the week of May 4, conditions permitting.
The work will require the closure of K-19 in Belpre. Motorists should follow the signed detour on U.S. 50, U.S. 281 and K-19 between Larned and U.S. 281.
The intent is to complete the concrete replacement before Memorial Day.
This is the first phase of a resurfacing project on K-19 between Belpre and Larned that will include a mill and overlay later in the spring.
Venture Corporation, based in Great Bend, is the primary contractor for the total project, which is just less than $2.5 million.
KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in all work zones.
