In addition to this evening’s performance for the dedication of the marquee at the Iola Theatre, Allen Community College’s Jazz band has several other perfomances coming up over the next couple of weeks.
Friday, May 1st the Jazz Band will play at the annual Red Devil Gala at 6 PM at the 415 Event Center, at 415 W. Madison Ave in Iola. Guests can enjoy a night of great food, live entertainment, and exciting fundraising activities, including a live auction, silent auction, dueling pianos, and a dessert dash.
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, and can be purchased through the Allen Community College website or via the event’s Facebook page. All proceeds from the evening support Allen Community College students and programs.
Saturday May 2, the Jazz Band will open for the Iola Community Orchestra’s concert at 7 PM at the Bowlus Performing Arts Center, offering an engaging program for music lovers of all ages. The spring lineup concludes on Wednesday, May 6 with a combined recital at 7 PM at the Allen campus Fishpond, featuring piano students, applied music participants, the Allen Community College Choir, and the Allen Jazz Combo.
Music instructor Patrick Matarrazzo encourages community support for the performers. “I hope, if possible, you take the opportunity to attend and show your support to these exceptional students in their musical endeavors,” he said.
