The Burlington Police Department office is closed until further notice due to storm damage overnight including downed poles sand power lines. Streets surrounding the police station are also closed. A CoCoRAHS weather station near Burlington reported 2.13 inches of rain as of 7 AM today. There was also a K-State Mesonet report of 1.88 inches east of Welda , with just over a half inch reported at the Iola Water Plant which is the National Weather Service cooperative observer for Iola, and .75″ in Yates Center.
