Storli Jensen leads Warriors at Midwest National Spring Invite

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Sterling College competed at the Midwest National Spring Invite on Monday and Tuesday, April 6-7. Sondre Storli Jensen led the Warriors, finishing in fifth place at two-over-par, while Tobias Tajet tied for 24th at 12-over at Colbert Hills Golf Course.

The course holds a par of 72 with 7,049 yards, which athletes competed on through three rounds.

Sondre Storli Jensen secured a strong fifth-place finish with a total of +2. Storli Jensen showcased consistency, particularly in round two, where he posted a round of -1, following his +1 in the opening round.

Tobias Tajet, a freshman, tied for 24th with a total score of +12. Tajet started strong with a -1 in the first round but faced challenges in the final round with a +10.

Zach Surface ended the tournament tied for 35th at +20. Surface’s performance included a notable +3 in the first round, but he encountered difficulties in the second round with a +12.

Anders Hermansen, also tied for 35th, matched Surface with a total of +20. Hermansen’s rounds included a consistent +4, +6, and +10 across the three rounds.

Andres Thomas Castelblanco Salamanca tied for 46th with a total score of +26. Castelblanco began with a +6 in Round 1 and followed with a +7 and +13 in the subsequent rounds.

Sterling will finish the season at the KCAC Championships hosted in Garden City, Kan. at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course on Monday through Wednesday, April 20-21.
