MANHATTAN, Kan. — Sterling defeated Manhattan Christian 3-0 on Friday, Sept. 18 winning by set scores of 25-21, 25-13 and 25-11. The Lady Warriors hit .190 with 33 kills, while the Thunder finished at .058 with 24 attack errors. Sterling also had advantages of 8-3 in blocks and 6-2 in service aces. The team recorded eight blocks in the game, surpassing its season average of 7.19.
Taylor “Dru” Lindsey recorded 22 digs and added two assists. Keala Wilson Brown finished with 16 assists, 14 digs, six kills and three service aces. Aliya McClanahan led Sterling with seven kills while hitting .462 and adding three block assists. Chloe Schmidt posted five total blocks, exceeding her season average of 2.63, and added three kills on 12 attacks.
Up next, the the Lady Warriors (9-0) will open up conference play against the No. 5 ranked McPherson College Bulldogs (12-2) on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m.
