The Nickerson High School boys and girls track team will host a loaded field in the Nickerson Invitational Friday night.
In addition to the Nickerson boys and girls teams, Buhler, Hutchinson Trinity, Reno County Sabres Homeschool, Ellinwood, Fairfield, Hoisington and Leon-Bluestem also will compete in the meet on Nickerson’s Senior Night.
The Hutchinson Trinity boys placed first at the Russell Invitational last Friday while the Sabres girls and boys teams swept the Kinsley Invitational.
Field events start at 3:30 p.m. and running events begin at 5:30 p.m.
Nickerson senior Delaney Childs won the girls javelin at the Russell Invitational last Friday with a throw of 123 feet, 6 inches. She also placed seventh in the discus with a throw o 97-9.
Jaycie Ohnmacht placed fourth in the 1600-meter runs with a time of 6 minutes, 44.97 seconds and was seventh in the 800 (2:54.87).
Bella Brinkley and Amelia Peil placed 5-7 in the 3200 (14:28.93 and 15:05.94). Brinkley also was eighth in the long jump (14-9).
Katy King and Elizabeth Dick were 7-13 in the shot put (30-11.25 and 30-0.5) and 12-16 in the discus (90-6 and 83-0).
Montana Peterson placed 10th in the 100-meter hurdles (19.63) and 11th in the 200 hurdles (58.2).
For the Nickerson boys, Noah Weber, Kason Bright and Kaidence Keeler placed 4-5-11 in the triple jump (39-1.85, 37-7.25 and 35-1). Bright and Keeler placed 11-24 in the long jump (18-7 and 16-5.75).
The 4×400-meter relay team placed fifth (3:53.91). Aiden Brinkley placed fifth in the 1600 (5:01.74) and eighth in the 3200 (11:37.64).
Andy Huggard placed sixth in the 800 (2:17.1) and ninth in the 1600 (5:20.46). Renner Hawks placed seventh in the 800 (2:20.78) and 10th in the 1600 (5:21.41). Keeler placed 13th in the 800 (2:43.1).
Weber and Bright placed 16-18 in the 100-meter dash (12.18 seconds and 12.25). Bright and Gabe Cesar placed 14-23 in the 200 (25.25 and 26.33).
Zein Rector, Connor Bower, David Maehs and Nathan Borecky placed 7-17-23-42 in the discus (113-6, 95-8, 89-5 and 46-10).
Bower, Maehs, Rector and Borecky placed 6-21-28-39 in the shot put (39-0.25, 35-5.25, 33-0.25 and 26-8.75).
