BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Sterling College women’s tennis faced a tough match up against Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Saturday, March 23 coming away with a 7-0 loss.
The Eagles started by earning the doubles point as Danna Arroyo and Hannah Giordanelli lost to Rocio Lisette Espinal and Jewel Henderson 6-1 in the No. 1 doubles match. Jessica Gautreau and Greta Fankhauser faced a similar fate in the No. 2 doubles match losing 6-0 to Oceane Frendjian and Madeline Henderson.
In singles play, Arroyo lost to Lisette Espinal 7-5, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles match. In No. 2 singles play, Giordanelli lost to J. Henderson 6-1, 6-3. Fankhauser lost to M. Henderson in the No. 3 singles match 6-0, 6-1 while Gautreau closed out the day with a 6-0, 6-0 loss to Nancy Henderson in the No. 4 singles match.
