HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Hutchinson Fire responded to a report of a structure fire in the 800 block of East 8th Street. Upon arrival, crews found a small exterior fire at the rear of the residence. Firefighters were able to make an aggressive exterior attack, quickly bringing the fire under control and preventing further involvement of the structure.
The home was occupied at the time of the call. The homeowner was able to safely escape and was evaluated on scene by Reno County EMS before being released. Damage was contained to the exterior and first floor of the residence.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Hutchinson Fire would like to thank Reno County EMS, Reno County Emergency Communications, the Red Cross, and the Hutchinson Police Department for their assistance.
