HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The final unofficial results for the City of Hutchinson’s Special Question came in Tuesday night just before 8:30p.m.
The proposed additional ¾ cent general retailers sales tax was adopted, authorizing the Hutchinson City Council to levy the additional sales tax for the needs of the city, including storm water modifications, park and street maintenance, as well as other operations of the city.
The additional sales tax will be effective October 1st of this year and expire on September 30th of 2036.
The question received 2,316 votes for yes, and 2,166 votes for no. Voter turnout was just over 16%, with 4,482 votes cast.
