Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Men’s Basketball team ended their season at home hosting the No. 16 Friends University Falcons for Senior Night.
It was a tale of two halves for the Swedes. In the first period, Bethany would hold Friends to just 37 points on 36% shooting from the field. The second half is where the Falcons started to take flight shooting north of 55% enroute to 57 points. The Swedes would fall 94-75 finishing the season with a 7-20 overall record and 3-19 in conference play.
Donovan Newton drew his final start of his career and made the most of it tying his career-high in points with 23 including a new career-high five three pointers. JJ Warfield poured in 14 points and would swat three shots. Jordan Reams led the team in rebounds with seven while also scoring eight points.
This marks the end of the Swedes Men’s Basketball season. It was a tough season, but there were plenty of high points throughout the year to look for great things next year.
