HUTCHINSON, Kan. – February 18, 2026 — Today, the Hutchinson Fire Department promptly responded to an emergency call regarding a fire in the 6700 block of E. 43rd Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a 50-by-30-foot shop with heavy, dark smoke showing from the eaves.
The crew conducted an offensive fire attack, quickly gaining control and containing the fire in a short period of time. Fortunately, the building was unoccupied at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported.
