Meet & Greet with Author Dorothy Kramer from 10 a.m. to 11a.m. at the McPherson Public Library. Dorothy will also be receiving guests at the Cedars event center from 1 to 2 p.m. Dorothy Kramer grew up in Northwestern Kansas and now resides in McPherson, Kansas. After 91 years, she has accomplished her dream of writing and publishing a children’s book. These characters, Cassidy and Dee Dee are her real great – granddaughters. 2026 Storm Fury on the Plains at 6:30 p.m. at the McPherson Opera House – 219 S. Main. The McPherson County Emergency Management invites community members to the annual Storm Spotter Training presented by the National Weather Service. This storm identification and safety presentation will include an overview of severe weather hazards common to Central Kansas and how to safely observe and report significant weather features. Paint your partner night – 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the McPherson Public Library. Grab a partner and get creative! Join us for a fun and relaxed evening of painting where you’ll paint your partner, or the person who comes with you. No art experience needed! The Lovin’ Spoonful Live at the McPherson Opera House – 219 S. Main. Showtime: 7:30 p.m. The Lovin’ Spoonful, formed in 1965, quickly became America’s answer to the Beatles with seven consecutive top 10 Billboard hits, including “Do You Believe in Magic.” With their joyful, folk-rock legacy still going strong, The Lovin’ Spoonful was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. ELK Days! It is from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Maxwell Wildlife Refuge, 2565 Pueblo Road, Canton. Celebrate the Maxwell Elk with a tour and meal. 45-minute tram tour to view the Elks and visit the Bison herd. Enjoy the tour with a narrator who will provide many different historical facts of the prairie, the wildlife, and more. Then return to the tour center for lunch. The Artimus Pyle Band performing at 7:30 p.m. at the McPherson Opera House – 219 S. Main. The Artimus Pyle Band features Artimus Pyle, the last surviving member and drummer of the classic Lynyrd Skynyrd lineup. Come see the new APB lineup that includes Barry Lee Harwood (Rossington Collins Band), Shannon Wickline (Charlie Daniels Band), Thane Shearon, Jerry Lyda, and Scott Raines. Ties & Tiaras from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at J.O. Sundstrom Conference Center – 102 Main Street (on the first floor) in Lindsborg. Dress up and enjoy a night out with your kid(s)!
