Clevenger’s 26 Not Enough as Tigers Fall to Drovers

Chickasha, Okla. – The Central Christian College of Kansas Women’s Basketball team was back in action last night as they faced the University of Science and Arts Oklahoma Drovers in Chickasha. The Tigers looked to bounce back after a close loss to Oklahoma City in their last contest.

Both teams came out shooting in the first quarter, with USAO making 60% of their shots from the field in the quarter. They led the Tigers 19-16 after 10 minutes. The aggressiveness of the Drovers early on helped pad their lead by halftime. The Drovers led 37-28 at the break thanks to consistent shooting and second chance opportunities.

After halftime, both teams made adjustments but the Drovers were relentless on the glass. Outrebounding the Tigers 47-37 throughout the course of the game and this helped make the difference in the outcome of the game. After three quarters, the Drovers had amassed a 17 point lead.

Despite having their highest scoring quarter where they outscored the Drovers 23-16, the Tigers fell to the Drovers, 66-76.

Chloe Clevenger led the way in scoring for the Tigers, dropping 26 points and adding in 9 rebounds off the bench. No other Tigers was in double figures on the night.

The Tigers (6-16, 2-14 SAC), head back to McPherson to face Mid-America Christian on Saturday at 2pm. The game will be streamed on the Urban Edge Network.
