McPHERSON, Kan. – After teaming up with Dragon Rodriguez to earn a 6th Place state medal in 4A Girls Tennis, McPherson sophomore Lleyton Kuhn hit the links at Turkey Creek for the 4A Girls State Golf Tournament and brought home another medal, finishing in 13th Place.

Kuhn was one of four Bullpups that qualified for State in 2026, joined by Amelia Moody, Pera Bauer and Ari Prose.  Kuhn and Moody both had good enough days on Monday to make the cut to play the second round on Tuesday.  Bauer fell short of day two by just one stroke, while Prose also missed the cut as they both finished great careers with the Bullpups.

After shooting a 79 on day one and being tied for 6th, Kuhn scored an 85 on day two for a two-round score of 164, finishing in a tie for 13th place and bringing home the medal.  As noted, Moody also qualified for day two.  She had a 90 on day one and a 96 on day two, finishing with a score of 186 for 42nd place among 90 golfers.  The senior also finished her career at the State meet.

The 4A team champion was Wamego with a score of 653, 11 strokes better than second place Baldwin at 664.  Peyton Wright of Baldwin was the individual champion with a 144, two strokes better than Concordia’s Mya Niehues at 146 in second place.
