HUTCHINSON, Kan. – (January 21, 2026) – At 1:37 a.m., the Hutchinson Fire Department responded to a report of a commercial structure fire at 201 East Avenue A.
First-arriving units located a small fire involving the soffit and roof area of the structure. Due to the department’s commitment to rapid response times, crews arrived quickly and were able to contain the fire to a very limited area.
The prompt notification to emergency services, combined with the swift response and coordinated actions of fire crews, prevented further extension of the fire and helped preserve an iconic local business.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is considered electrical in nature.
