McPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — The McPherson County Community Foundation is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a special round of “Dream” grants, open from Jan. 15 to Feb. 15, along with a series of community celebrations across the county.
To commemorate 25 years of community-based impact, MCCF will award up to $2,500 for projects in each community within McPherson County that create a positive local impact. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to, community beautification efforts, recreation and community-wide programming.
Unlike the foundation’s regular grant cycles, the 25th anniversary Dream grants are open to community groups and individual residents, not just nonprofit organizations. Community members are encouraged to submit community project ideas through a short Google form found here.
“We are especially interested in ideas from those who may not be regular applicants for our funds,” said MCCF Director of Community Services Betsy Davis. “If you have a project that you think could improve your community’s overall quality of life, we want to hear about it.”
MCCF does ask that submissions include an established group or organization in the community that can be partnered with to bring the project’s vision to reality.
Grant recipients will be announced during a series of community celebrations hosted by the foundation throughout the county as part of its anniversary observance. These events will be open to the public, snacks provided by caterers local to each community will be served.
“We are proud to celebrate 25 years of service to McPherson County by bringing each community together,” said MCCF CEO Michelle Huddle. “We hope these celebrations give communities a chance to reflect on and celebrate the investments made toward their shared dreams.”
