HUTCHINSON, Kan.  — Central Christian School (CCS) announces the upcoming retirement of Mrs. Judy Parsons, elementary school principal, who will conclude her faithful service at the end of the 2025–2026 academic year. After more than a decade of dedicated leadership, Mrs. Parsons leaves behind a legacy marked by excellence, innovation, and Christ-centered service.

Mrs. Parsons joined Central Christian School in 2015 following her retirement from the Wichita public school system. What began as a providential visit during an alumni and reunion weekend which she attended with her husband, Richard, who is a CCS alumnus, soon became a calling to serve again in Christian education. That calling would shape the next chapter of Central’s elementary program.

From the outset, Mrs. Parsons brought creativity, wisdom, and a heart for ministry into every role she held. She transformed the elementary hallway into a welcoming environment for young learners and their families, strengthened professional development practices, enhanced campus safety protocols, guided after-school care programming, oversaw Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing, and supported countless initiatives, many visible and many behind the scenes.

“Judy has been a builder of people, programs, and purpose,” stated Dr. John Walker, superintendent of Central Christian School. “She has served as a faithful shepherd, a wise mentor, and a devoted leader who always sought to honor Christ in her work. Her impact will be felt for years to come.”

In addition to her administrative leadership, Mrs. Parsons has been deeply involved in the spiritual life of the school, leading chapels, and faithfully proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to students, staff, and families.

“She has shaped not only systems, but hearts,” Walker added. “Her love for students and her unwavering commitment to the mission of CCS has left an indelible mark on our community.”

As the school prepares for this transition, it is now accepting applications for its next elementary principal. The leadership team is seeking a candidate who feels called to Christian education, is passionate about discipling students, and thrives in a collaborative, Christ-centered culture.

Applicants are encouraged to prayerfully consider this opportunity to serve in a mission-driven environment dedicated to academic excellence and spiritual formation.

“While Judy will be deeply missed, we trust that God is already preparing the next leader for this role,” Walker said. “We are not simply filling a position, we are seeking another architect, another shepherd, another servant leader who will continue this important work.”

Central Christian School invites the community to join in celebrating Mrs. Parsons’ extraordinary legacy of faithfulness, leadership, and devotion to Christ and His children.
