IOLA, Kan. — There’s a new grant opportunity for small business owners.
American Express and Main Street America’s AMEX Shop Small Grant will provide 250 small businesses $20,000 each to help them grow, innovate, and support their local Communities.
This grant is for independently owned businesses with fewer than 20 employees, operating a physical storefront, and have been in operation since at least Jan. 1, 2024.
Thrive Allen County is offering free assistance on applying for the grants with a session Tuesday, Jan. 6 from 5 until 6:30 at the Thrive office at 9 S. Jefferson in Iola.
Thrive’s Camille Lavon said if a business owner isn’t able to make that meeting. They would be willing to set up a time to answer any questions and provide help in applying for the grant. The application deadline is Jan. 16.
