Neosho Panthers Men’s basketball Compete Hard at Iowa Western Classic

Council Bluffs, IA – The Neosho County Men’s Basketball team battled through a challenging weekend at the Iowa Western Classic, facing strong competition in Ellsworth Community College and host Iowa Western Community College. The Panthers showed depth, energy, and offensive balance across both games, with multiple players reaching double figures each night.

On Friday, November 7, Neosho County fell to Ellsworth Community College, 101–73. Four Panthers scored in double figures, led by Jayce Cooper with 19 points. Cooper Weeks followed with 17 points, while Zach Lewis and Adyn Prophete added 12 and 10 points, respectively. Despite the result, the Panthers displayed encouraging offensive rhythm and teamwork throughout the contest.

Neosho County returned to action on Saturday, November 8, against Iowa Western Community College, turning in a strong performance before falling 77–67. Adyn Prophete led the way with 17 points, while Jayce Cooper recorded an impressive double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Champ Powaukee added 12 points, and Zach Lewis contributed 10 to round out the balanced scoring attack.

The Panthers will look to bounce back and continue their strong play on Tuesday, November 11 at 5:30, when they travel to face Redlands Community College in their next non-conference matchup.
