
The Buhler Crusaders rolled past the Winfield Vikings 41-21 Friday night at Crusader Stadium in Buhler.
Buhler led 7-0 after one quarter, 21-0 at halftime and 35-0 after three quarters. Winfield outscored Buhler 21-6 in the fourth quarter.
Buhler outgained the Vikings 401-392 in total yards. The Crusaders rushed for 281 yards and passed for 120. Winfield passed for 284 and ran for 108.
Buhler’s Landon Martinez scored three touchdowns. He caught a 69-yard TD pass from Asher Zachary, returned a kickoff 7 yards for a TD and ran for 2-yard TD.
Zachary threw a 32-yard TD pass to Jacob Miller, Ben Clouse ran 25 yards for a TD and Hendrix Blackburn added a 5-yard TD run.
Nathan Wells made 3-of-3 extra point kicks and Fletcher Westfall made 2-of-3 PAT attempts.
Zachary completed 3-of-4 passes for 120 yards with the two TD passes. Clouse rushed for 122 yards on 123 carries, Blackburn had 93 yards and 13 carries and Max Harmony 7 for 46.
\Martinez had 1 catch for 69 yards, Miller 1 for 32 and Harmony 1 for 19.
Miller returned a kickoff 90 yards.
Miller led the Buhler defense with 9 tackles and Asher McCounnaughy 8. Buhler’s defense had 2 sacks. Miller intercepted a pass.
The Crusaders improved to 5-2 and Winfield fell to 1-6.
Buhler plays at McPherson next Friday.
