
The Buhler Crusaders improved to 4-2 by blasting El Dorado 63-6 Friday night at Crusader Stadium in Buhler.
The host Crusaders led 21-0 at halftime, 56-6 at halftime and scored 7 points in the second half. El Dorado scored its lone touchdown in the second quarter.
Buhler scored nine touchdowns against the Wildcats (five rushing, three passing and one interception return).
Buhler’s Ben Clouse rushed for 56 yards and scored four TDs (8, 8, 19 and 8 yards).
Asher Zachary passed for 182 yards, including three TD passes (54 yards to Landon Martinez, 38 yards to Garrett Gleason and 14 yards to Jacob Miller).
Gleason added a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown. Bryan McCurdy capped the Crusaders’ scoring with a 30-yard TD run and rushed for 40 yards.
Nathan Wells kicked five extra points and Fletcher Westfall kicked four.
Buhler had 357 yards of total offense (182 passing and 175 rushing) and held El Dorado to 78 total yards (77 passing and 1 rushing). Buhler had 16 first downs compared to 8 for the Wildcats.
Hendrix Blackburn led the Crusaders in rushing with 58 yards on 13 carries, including a 21-yard run.
Martinez caught 1 pass for 54 yards, Gleason 1 for 38, Miller 3 for 35, Asher McCounnaughy 1 for 28 and Eli White 1 for 13.
Max Harmony led the Buhler defense with 6 tackles. Jaxon Pratt had 5 tackles, including 2 sacks. Carston Seidel added 4 tackles, Miller 3 and Jacob Burklow 2. Miller recovered a fumble.
Buhler hosts Winfield next Friday. The Winfield Vikings lost to Wellington 46-28.
