Local schools in Rice County were in action on Tuesday, Sept. 30 as the regular season nears its end.
STERLING
The Sterling Black Bears had a home doubleheader against Ell-Saline, winning both matches. The first match was a 25-19, 25-21 two-set sweep. Match No. 2 was also a sweep as Sterling won set one 25-18 and narrowly got the second set 30-28.
Sterling is now 11-10 on the season.
LITTLE RIVER
Little River, who has had a stellar season thus far, won both of their matches at home on Tuesday. They defeated Herington in two sets (25-5, 25-8) before sweeping Rural Vista as well (25-10, 25-12).
Little River is leading their regional standings with a 21-2 record.
CHASE
Chase was in action as well against Otis-Bison on the road, falling 9-25 & 11-25 in a two-set sweep.
