The Buhler High School girls tennis team placed eighth at the Wichita Collegiate Tournament of Champions Saturday at the Wichita Collegiate tennis courts.
There were 16 schools represented in the tournament from across the state of Kansas from all classes. There were 32 singles players and 32 doubles teams.
In singles competition, Buhler’s Sofia Spies placed sixth and Ella Gillespie finished 23rd.
In doubles play, Buhler’s Emily Allen and Kylee Bradshaw placed 15th and the Crusaders’ Katelyn Harding and Addie Tech placed 30th.
The Crusaders will compete at the Smoky Valley Invitational at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lindsborg. Other schools competing are Pratt, Colby, Conway Springs, Marysville, Phillipsburg and Sabetha.
Buhler also will sent a team to Kingman High School on Tuesday to take on Kingman, Haven and Nickerson. The tournament starts at 3 p.m.
