The Marquette Ministerial Alliance consists of the churches of the Marquette community. The Alliance helps people who are in need of food, rent, or medical assistance. They also help sponsor the community Thanksgiving meal, at Christmas time, its member churches provide Christmas gifts for needy families through an Angel tree program and bring cheer baskets and carol to those who are at the Rivers View Nursing Home, the homebound and/or elderly. During the summer months when school is not in session, the Alliance coordinates a free summer lunch program at noon for the children of the Marquette community.
ReUse It Center Volunteer of the Month: Fran Stucky

The ReUse It Center has announced Fran Stucky as its Volunteer of the Month for September.
Stucky has been a ReUse It Center volunteer for the past 13 years. She was one of the original volunteers who started in January of 2012.
According to ReUse It Center Store Manager Shulah Neff, Stucky has “worn a LOT of different hats.”
Over the years, Stucky has served as a volunteer scheduler, a cashier, worked at the tally table and now works at the customer service desk.
When asked why she started volunteering and the reason she has stayed at the ReUse It Center, Stucky said, “Jim and I were really excited when we heard about the dream of starting a local store in McPherson to help people by sharing used items. Working in that small, musty building turned out to be such a meaningful and unexpected experience. We just jumped in and helped wherever we were needed. I’m so thankful for the amazing people I get to meet every day. It honestly fills my heart to see folks walk out smiling, arms full of things they need.”
